Below are examples of how to properly format questions in the syntax that is required for file upload to Chi Tester.  See Sample Test – Upload  for a sample exam.

Multiple Choice

1. First Question
a. First Distractor 
b. Second Distractor
c. Third Distractor

ans: a

(or ans: a;b;c if you want either a b or c to be correct)

Multiple Response

2. Second Question
a. First Distractor 
b. Second Distractor
c. Third Distractor

ans: a,b,c

Short Answer

3. Third Question

ans:answer;Answer;ANSWER

Essay

4. Fourth Question

ans: essay

Matching

5. Fifth Question
A. First distracter; First match
B. Second distracter; Second match
C. Third distracter; Third match

ans: Matching

Options – added after a question’s answer line

Feedback

feedback:

general: This subject will also be on your final exam

correct: Good job you got it right

incorrect: Sorry you got it wrong

a. You were right, see this page: 212

b. Sorry that wasn’t correct, but close. See page 212

c. Sorry that wasn’t even close. Make sure to review page 212

Weight

weight: 2

Gives the total amount of points the question is worth.

Category

category: Name of the Category

This creates and designates a category.
